Thank you for visiting the Boston Scuba Academy, providing excellent scuba instruction in the Boston area for over 40 years! Come join us! Whether you want to prepare for a tropical vacation, or explore off your favorite shore on the Cape or Gloucester, there’s a whole new world we’d love to share with you.
We offer basic open water classes every month upon request.
After completing our six lesson basic course, two days of certification dives are required, to prove you’re ready and responsible enough to dive on your own. We offer these certification dives most weekends of the spring and summer. However, if this doesn’t fit your schedule, fear not! We will happily provide you with a Universal Referral Form accepted by most SCUBA certification agencies. If you’re headed somewhere warm for the winter, you can take the class with us, then take your exam as soon as you begin your vacation.
Already certified? We also offer Advanced Open Water Certification, training in deep and night diving, search and recovery and underwater navigation! If you already know you love the sport, we’ll help you get more out of it! Advanced Certification is done on request. Give us a call and we’ll set it up! Our Advanced course offers a dive on the Chester Poling, New England’s most accessible large shipwreck, night diving at Back Beach in Gloucester, and advanced work with lift bags and compasses.
We are also delighted to offer guided dives for both new and experienced divers. With decades of recreational, instructional and scientific diving experience, we can provide you with the best diving experience and a minimum of hassle. Bring your own equipment, or let us supply the gear- we’ll fit you and bring it to the site! Watch our twitter feed for shore diving announcements. Otherwise, like the Advanced Open Water Certification, the easiest way to set up a shore dive is to call us and ask!

Im traveling from India for my 1st dive on 21st October please help with the details and tell me whether it will be possible with an instructor and guide me for the same.
My son and friends from his scout troop are interested in getting scuba certified. It’s hard to say how many scouts would participate. To figure that out, I need to know how many meetings there are, what day(s) of the week the instruction is offered, and the cost. And when the next session starts!
